Xtralarge Food Network: Discover How N8, 500 Can Change Your Life For Better Forever

0

Are you ready to discover how  ₦8, 500 can change your life for the better forever in Nigeria? Do you know that ₦8, 500 can open the door to owning a 3-bedroom bungalow for free for life? Can you believe that you can own farmland with the same ₦8, 500 only? Do you want to know how to receive bonuses in cash and organic foodstuffs for free every month? How about having access to healthy foodstuffs free from chemicals? If you want to know the secrets, I’m also ready to provide information on how to get all the aforementioned mouth-watering benefits with ₦8, 500 now. This is a mega-post. Let’s go!

You will agree with me that our ancestors lived much longer than us. Despite the fact that their environments were not as healthy and safe as ours, still, many of them didn’t die young. They surely got some things right: they ate chemical-free food, they engaged themselves in physical activities and had good rest—these contribute a lot to their wellbeing and longevity.

Our era is different. We are not as healthy, strong as they were. We eat harmful chemicals in our food and drinks daily. We don’t sleep well. We hardly find time to exercise. See our life.

A lot of diseases we have nowadays are lifestyle diseases. Lifestyle diseases are diseases associated with the way a person or a group of people lives. Examples of lifestyle diseases are heart disease, type 2 diabetes, cancer, kidney disease, etc.

According to Dr Michael Greger, the internationally-renowned nutrition expert, physician, conducts many types of research with his team, attends to the sickest of the sick of his patients, he scientifically proves to the world that eating healthy food prevents and reverses diseases. His grandmother was also saved and got cured of heart disease by switching her diet to healthy plant-based diets. Dr Michael shares useful information on the website Nutrition Fact.

The number one killer disease in the world is heart disease, followed by diabetes, then cancer. Diabetes has reached the endemic level. All these diseases can be prevented, cured by simply switching to chemical-free plant-based diets. Bad diets kill faster than anything.

We are all aware of how things have become degenerated in our country. Almost everybody wants to see quick results. No patience for due process. Most farmers want to plant crops and harvest the same day. Some fish farmers spice things up with chemicals to make their fishes grow quickly. Chicken is a no go area. Greed everywhere. They use different kinds of chemicals which are harmful to our health to grow, process and preserve what we eat. This is disastrous! Because all of us cannot be farmers doesn’t make them kill us all. We are dying slowly and quietly eating these chemical foods every day. You will understand me better if you have a family member or friend or colleague who is battling for his life at the hospital or who has been placed on drugs for life.

There is a solution to this problem. And a company is up for the task to change the narrative. A bad diet is the number one killer.

I remember how two tubers of yam that I bought didn’t rot for 6 months. I have never seen such a thing in my life. Some time ago, I bought some tubers of yam. Incidentally, I left two of them in the kitchen and didn’t touch it for 6 months. When I cut one of them with a knife, I was surprised that the yam was still fresh. I shared this experience with a friend of mine. He told me how people use chemicals to preserve yam, potato, beans now, and this is bad for our health.

There was a time when a video clip of some guys in the northern part of Nigeria pouring sniper insecticide on beans to preserve it went viral on the Internet. We all know how harmful sniper insecticide is when inhaled, not to talk of eating it in food. You see how we are dying quietly and slowly.

Xtra Large Farms is changing the narrative through innovations. The company is proving cogently to Nigerians that growing, harvesting and processing our foods is possible without any chemicals. All of us cannot grow everything we eat. We still have to rely on farmers and people to get what we eat.

Xtra Large Farms has the vision of making Nigerians stay healthy by eating healthy. The visionary company is taking up the task of ensuring that people consume chemical-free foods. They plant, process, and package with no chemicals.

How to Start A Lucrative Bread Supply Business in Nigeria

1

Who doesn’t eat bread in this country? Very few. Bread is one of the most eaten staple foods in Nigeria. In Lagos alone, about 10 million loaves of bread are consumed every day. The bread market in Lagos generates about N1.5billion in sales on a daily basis. Every business activity in the bread-making industry is worth billions of naira.

People love to eat freshly baked bread because of its sweet taste and freshness. Bread is one of the laziest foods available to get hands-on quickly. It goes well with some other foods like beans, fried egg, moimoi, akara, etc. It’s one of the cheapest sources of carbohydrates for people.

The bread supply business has been a goldmine and not many people know about it. It’s a cool business that doesn’t require much capital to start and can be run easily without a shop. If you are able to supply loaves of bread continually to your buyers, making a decent income is guaranteed. People won’t stop eating bread anytime soon and the bread supply business will remain profitable in Nigeria.

Any business-minded person can enter into this business and run it either as a full-time or side hustle. The bread supply business is so easy to start in Nigeria. You can think about the business today and start immediately with little effort.

The best type of bread to supply is slice bread. Because it has wide acceptance and people believe that it’s hygienically made, unlike the Agege bread. As we are in the era of freshly baked bread with modern baking equipment, it is easier and faster to produce slice bread than Agege bread.

Do you want to start a lucrative bread supply business in Nigeria but don’t know how? No issues. This blog post will provide you with the necessary information that you need to kick-start your journey.

Let’s dive in!

What is the bread supply business?

Bread supply business is a kind of business where you buy bread from the bread bakery and supply and sell it to the retailers who want to resell it to the final consumers.

You get good bread bakeries to buy loaves of bread from at supplying rates and transport it to your buyers to sell to them.

Bread can be distributed and supplied to provisions shops, supermarkets, restaurants, individuals who resell the bread to the consumers. A large number of people buy bread at provision shops and supermarkets these days. And supplying loaves of bread to these places guarantees good profits for the business.

This is a business of volume and turnover matters. The more you are able to sell loaves of bread, the more the profits.

You can start a bread supply business in Nigeria with N30, 000 or more. There is no limit to the amount of money you can use to start this business. You use the capital to buy loaves of bread at a bakery and sell it to retailers.

How profitable is the bread supply business in Nigeria

Most business ideas are profitable by their nature. How you go about the business matters more than the business idea itself.

The profitability of the bread supply business in Nigeria depends on your ability to sell a good number of loaves of bread to your customer continually. The more quantity you sell, the more money you make.

Let’s say you are able to sell 700 loaves of bread on averagely every week and you make an N40 profit on each loaf— this simply means you’ll be making N28, 000. When you multiply N28, 000 by 4 ( four weeks in a month ), you’ll get N112, 000. And you are not limited to this profit margin. You can increase your bottom-line profits by reaching more customers and selling more loaves of bread to them. The sky is your starting point.

Step by step guide on how to start a lucrative bread supply business in Nigeria

Starting a lucrative bread supply business is really easy. As you are getting to know about the business, I will be presenting to you how to start it by taking these steps:

Get customers:

There is no business on this planet that records success without paying customers. It’s a common thing in Nigeria to see how people rush to invest resources in business ideas without mapping out clear strategies on how to gain customers first. They build first and wait for customers to come. But if they don’t see them coming, they start looking for them here and there—desperately. In most cases, no good results.

As someone who knows what to do, as you’re about to start the business you need to find customers for your bread supply business.

Finding customers is not that hard. In fact, customers are everywhere for you. Your target audience is supermarkets, provision shops, food canteens, restaurants, and retailers. These are the places where Nigerians buy bread from.

Move around to market your business to provision shop owners, restaurants, supermarkets, canteens and retailers. The brand of bread you want to be supplying and selling to them shouldn’t be within their reach, else you may not get a good response from them. Imagine the situation whereby the break bakery is a stone throw to them, it means they can easily go there and get the quantity that they want.

Get bakery to buy bread from at supply rates

One of the first things to do after you have made up your mind to start the business is getting a bakery to buy bread from at supplying rates. Bread suppliers don’t own bread bakeries, so it’s necessary to look for at least a good one to be buying bread from at good rates.

Supplying rate is the price they give to business people who want to be selling bread to those who are reselling. The N400 loaf bread is sold at the rate of N300 to suppliers, and suppliers sell it to resellers at N350 per loaf, and they too make N50 on every loaf of bread they sell. N400.

Bread bakeries are everywhere these days. Move around and talk to their managers that you want to be buying loaves of bread in large quantities from them to supply to people who are reselling.

Bread supply is not new to many bakeries that have been in business for years. There is even a high possibility that they have suppliers they are dealing with and you can join the list too. No doubt there will be some of them who have not started dealing with bread suppliers. This is an opportunity to introduce the business deal to them and be their number one supplier.

Get capital to start the business

To start a profitable bread supply business in Nigeria, you need some amount of money to begin the journey like most other businesses.

The capital needed for the business is not a huge one. N40, 000 is enough to start the business. N30, 000 will get you like 100 loaves of bread while you reserve N10, 000 for other business expenses like transportation.

In as much as I don’t recommend taking a loan to start any business in Nigeria, however, it’s not bad to start a bread supply business in Nigeria with a loan. You can take a soft loan of N40, 000 only. But if it’s possible for you to raise the capital from family members and friends, this is better than taking a loan.

If you’re not able to raise the capital required to start a bread supply business in Nigeria through the aforementioned means, there is another way to go. In life, trust is social capital. If you are known to be a truthful person and you have a good reputation, you can discuss the business idea with the people in your circle of influence. They can stand as guarantors for you at the bread bakery. Possibly they may have a friend who runs a bread bakery. Your good character can open this door for you.

Supply and sell the loaves of bread to your customers

The previous steps you’ve taken to begin the bread supply business in Nigeria are taking you to this final step. You have got some customers in the second step, now is the time to sell to them. Move the loaves of bread from the bakery to their various business places. Get big plastic baskets for supply, arrange and handle the bread properly. Take a bus or keke-napep or okada to deliver the loaves of bread. If you have your own car, it will be very useful for you. But if you don’t have, keep on jumping rides here and there as it’s not good to buy a car in the beginning for the business, even if you want to start big.

In conclusion

Now that you have the basic information about how to start a lucrative bread supply business in Nigeria, you can take action now with it and begin the journey.

From experience, I can say that one of the problems we have in Nigeria and Africa at large is we overlook business opportunities. There are so many ones under our noses but we fail to see them. And this is why you see Chinese, Lebanese, Indians carting away millions of dollars in profits out of the country. They take advantage of business opportunities we fail to see. They solve problems for people and make money.

If you look at the bread supply business in Nigeria with a good eye, you can be making a huge amount of money from it in profits nonstop. Entrepreneurs think in numbers and you are one. Think. Start now.

Do you want to start a lucrative electronics and electrical parts/accessories business in Nigeria but don’t know how? No issues. This blog post will guide you on how to begin and make money from the business.

Before you start a business in Nigeria or any country in Africa, pause and ask yourself this question: what problem I’m I solving for people with this idea? The businesses that record profit and are successful solve essential problems for the masses on this continent.

In Nigeria, more than 70% of the population spend 40% of their income on feeding and 40% on basic necessities. This tells you that your business idea needs to offer a product/service in this category if you want to record success in no time. No doubt, the consumer electronics and electrical accessories business falls into the category of basic necessities that people need daily.

In this age and time, it’s hard to live without electricity and electrical appliances. Every day you need water, oxygen, electricity, even an Internet connection to function fully as a human.

One of the most profitable businesses you can dive into in Nigeria and Africa is the electrical parts and consumer electronics business. Unarguably, Nigeria is the biggest importer of electronics in Africa. And the number of imported items in this line of business keep growing year by year. The market is huge and you can come into it and make money in the business.

So long as people exist on this planet and they need electricity, this business will continue to be profitable for anyone who engages in it and knows how to run a business.

We know some millionaires in Nigeria whose source of wealth is electrical accessories and electronics. There are multimillionaires electronics importers at Alaba International Market, Ojo, Lagos, Nigeria. You’ll be surprised if you have an idea of how much these guys are controlling and how many products enter the country through them.

For sure, you don’t need some special skills to engage in this kind of business. But I will recommend that you be that kind person that loves electronics and business. That’s all. You can always learn more as you stay in business.

In this blog post, you will learn how to start selling consumer electronics and electrical parts in Nigeria and make serious money.

Let’s go:

What are consumer electronics?

Consumer electronics are electronics appliances/devices produced to be used by consumers and not for commercial purposes. These are the kinds of electronics we use in our various homes.

Here are the examples of consumer electronics:

  • Fan.
  • Refrigerator.
  • Sound system.
  • Pressing iron.
  • Television.
  • Blender.
  • Lamp.
  • Clipper.
  • Computer.
  • Air conditioner.
  • Washing machine.
  • DVD player.
  • Bulb.
  • Warmer.
  • Toasting machine, etc.

The list of consumer electronics is endless.

What are electrical accessories?

Electrical accessories are the items used in industrial and domestic electrical wiring.

Here are the examples of electrical accessories:

  • Switch.
  • Bulb.
  • Socket.
  • Plug.
  • Wires and cables.
  • Fuses.
  • Lamp holder.
  • Adapter.
  • Distribution board.
  • Extension socket, etc.

WHERE TO BUY CONSUMER ELECTRONICS AND ELECTRICAL PARTS/ACCESSORIES AT WHOLESALE PRICE IN NIGERIA

Generally speaking, if your business is a product-based one, it is a must to figure out where you will be buying the product(s) you want to be selling low,  and you sell high to customers to make profits except if you want to be making the product(s) by yourself.

In the consumer electronics and electrical parts/accessories business, the products are not made by you, so you are buying the products. No doubt, there are various means you can buy the products, but I recommend this method of buying from wholesalers in the market, and I can tell you why. This method makes you able to see, touch and confirm the quality of the products you are putting money on. And the risks involved are quite low compared to importing by yourself.

Lagos Island Markets and Alaba International Markets are the places where you can buy your electrical parts/accessories and consumer electronics at wholesale prices and make good profits in Nigeria. Navigating through Alaba International Market requires market experience and knowledge, else as a newbie in the market,  you may fall prey to people who dupe for a living.

All kinds of consumer electronics and electrical parts/accessories are sold at wholesale prices in the market. You need to test the testable items before leaving the wholesalers’ shops/stores except you are guaranteed that faulty or broken or non-working items would be changed if there is a need.

Getting to Alaba International Market, Ojo is easy if you know how to move around Lagos. Anywhere you are in Lagos, find your way to Oshodi; board a bus to Mile 2; alight at the last bus stop; ask anybody where you can board a bus going to Alaba Market or you can take okada to Alaba at the last bus stop; drop at Volks; then enter Keke napep to the market. There you are.

STEP BY STEP GUIDE  ON HOW TO START THE CONSUMER ELECTRONICS AND ELECTRICAL ACCESSORIES BUSINESS IN  NIGERIA

As you are getting familiar with the business now, the next thing is how to get started step by step. Let’s go:

Get your capital set

You need to have some amount of money that you will use to stock your shop/store except if you want to buy on credit which is not good enough for a new person in the business. It is even hard to even believe that someone will trust a man who is just starting a business with his goods on credit.

The consumer electronics and electrical accessories business can be started with a reasonable amount of money that can be used to stock up your store or shop or business place with products.

I think you should know by now that you cannot start this business with N20, 000 or N50, 000, or even N100, 000 except you want to start really small. Your size of capital determines the kind of profits you want to be gaining from the business. The people who make much money invest much as well in the business.

Get a reasonable amount of money set to start the consumer electronics and electrical parts business, and allocate the money properly to the fast-moving products.

Do market research

Carry out market research effectively in your own way. Market research would open your eyes to the market you are entering and also guide you about what’s and what’s not.

Market research helps you to be aware of the kinds of products that sell fast and with a good profit margins. More so, you will understand how seasons affect the sales too. Air conditioners sell more in the dry season than in the rainy season. Consumer electronics sell more in an area where the supply of electricity is good than where it’s not.

Choose the kinds of products to sell

Consumer electronics and electrical accessories/parts are numerous. There is not single store on this planet where you can buy all the products, even if you have billions of naira. It’s impossible.

Market research will definitely lead you to the discovery of products that people are demanding and profitable. There is no how your market research will not shed light on this.

As you are planning to stock up your electronics and electrical store, choose the section of the market you want to be playing in and play well.

Get a shop/store in a good location

Location plays an important role in the success of this business. Your shop/store should be located in an accessible place for people. Nigerians hate stressing themselves when buying a product or service except between life and death. Your electrical shop is not a hospital, people will care about the stress your business is putting them into.

Rent a shop/store on a motorable road. Consider a shop where your customers won’t have to climb the staircase to buy from you. Though with the Internet, you can surely sell to people outside your business environment, but let me ask you this question: what’s the essence of paying rent if you cannot make sales locally in your business? You shouldn’t rent a shop then. Your living room is better for the business.

Your Turn

After reading this post, I don’t think you need to go elsewhere looking for how to start a lucrative consumer electronics and electrical parts business in Nigeria again. Are you looking for a hustle to start with little capital and make money anywhere you are on earth? The hustle is location independent. The hustle that you can carry to anywhere you go, trust me. The hustle that you can make money from on the day you start it. A hustle that can solve your generational financial poverty problem. The hustle that doesn’t need an office or a shop.

Technological innovations have been lifting millions of people out of poverty every day. If I told you in the year 2000 that there will come a time when you can be running a legitimate hustle on your mobile phone and making cool money with it, you will definitely say that it’s impossible.

Now,  the internet is breaking barriers and making things possible and changing people’s lives. The Internet and technology are making it easy for people to make money now.

If you’re an Internet user, the chance is high that you’ve come across these words: cryptocurrency and Bitcoin. It’s now common words you hear from people on the street. People are making cool money trading cryptocurrency in Nigeria.

Cryptocurrency trading is worth putting hands into, but you need to have knowledge of the market and how to trade.

In February, CBN announced that cryptocurrency trading is banned in Nigeria. They can ban Naira to Crypto and Crypto to Naira, but trading itself cannot be banned by any government.

People are using Peer to Peer for exchange now and banks and payment companies are losing the fees they used to charge. The ban is even a good thing for the market because it makes the trade to be more popular and a lot of people are coming in.

It’s a positive-sum hustle—the more people come into it, the better it is for the traders and the market. I have to explain more what I mean by this. As Nigerians and Africans, we think in terms of zero-sum. We believe that for someone to gain, the other person has to lose. It’s a common thing in high status-based societies like ours. For winners to emerge, there must be losers. Cryptos trading isn’t like that. Everybody can make money. Everybody can make good profits. Your gains don’t affect mine, and mine won’t affect yours.

Cryptocurrency trading has made a lot of Nigerians to become financially independent. They don’t have to worry about money again because they have more than enough to take care of their bills, and the regular returns on their investments are enough to live on for years to come.

Let me tell you my personal story and cry with me, please. An Indian Facebook friend of mine introduced Bitcoin to me in early 2015 when 1 Bitcoin was around $400. I wasn’t convinced and the whole thing didn’t make sense to me not until when it rose to $750. I bought 0.5 Bitcoin with N68, 000 then. A year after in 2016, I sold it and I made money on it.

In the following year, 2017, a Bitcoin worth $1, 000. I regretted my action. I tried to connect back with my Indian friend, but no success. As at then, he traded forex, stocks, and crypto. I later remembered that he told me he’s going to be off on Facebook for a while. I searched for him on the Internet, same results. Then I gave up on him.

In December 2017, I saw an advert online about a cryptocurrency trading course. I called the phone number on it. I was told that they charge $700 for the course. In my mind, I said, “for wetin nah!”. The course fee pissed me off. Not that I couldn’t afford to pay, but I just felt that they were overcharging for the course.

In 2018, I didn’t have time to entertain cryptocurrency trading thoughts at all. Too busy with other hustles of mine.

In January 2019, I contacted a classmate of mine who I got to know through his Facebook post that he’s trading cryptocurrencies. He told me that to join their training group on WhatsApp is $1, 000. I was like Ah! I just jejely moved on. But he promised to do something for me.

In late 2019, I went to a client office. He was on a call discussing with a friend about some new cryptocurrencies that will do fine in 2 years. As he ended the call, he attended to me and we discussed. After, as I was about to leave, I asked him about the best coins to HODL (Hold). He replied with a question: are you trading cryptocurrency too? And I said I’m an enthusiast. He gave me an appointment and taught me everything practically I need to know to get started. I watched his trading. And he shared lessons he has learned over the years as a trader. I’m grateful to date for this rare opportunity.

Imagine if I didn’t sell my Bitcoin that year. Imagine if I’ve gone into trading early. Look at opportunities I have missed. But I’m thankful for one thing: in crypto trading, there’s no latecomer, but the earlier the better.

If you are ready for trading cryptocurrency in Nigeria and you don’t know how to start, don’t worry. This blog post is going to open your eyes and mind to see how you can make money trading and investing in cryptocurrencies in Nigeria.

Let’s dive in straight:

Why do you need to start cryptocurrency trading in Nigeria and Africa

The biggest economy in Africa is Nigeria’s. If Nigeria’s economy is weak, it means the African economy is weak. And countries with bad economies have bad currency. Every now and then the government devalues the currency. It’s normal terms and conditions for countries that run their affairs on loans to get their currency devalued any time they need loans.

The decisions of the people at the helm of affairs affect your life and earnings. The N1, 000 you earned 3 months ago is not up to that value again. This means to get the same value of  N1, 000 you made a few months ago you’ll have to work more. Insane.

The money you save in banks, too, loses value over time and you get paid nothing in interest. In Nigeria now where the interest rate on fixed deposits is 0.75% per annum. Just imagine. I would rather use the money to buy bags of garri and be selling it as a side hustle, and by the end of the year, I would record 50% of my capital as profits, if not more.

The cure to weak currency is to earn in dollars. Remember it’s a normal thing in Nigeria to see the price of commodities jumping up when the dollar is up. The anthem is always “dollar has gone up, the dollar has gone up oo!” Imagine if you’re making your money in US Dollars, would you be bothered if it rises? The answer is no. In fact, you’ll make more money.

Inflation is biting hard and you don’t have to bite your hand. Act and find solutions to it.

Exportation business, freelancing, blogging, foreign stocks trading, amongst others are the businesses to engage in to make US Dollars in Nigeria. But sadly, some of them require huge capital, licence to start. Some of them take time to see good results. If you don’t have any good skills to sell in this Information Age, you may need to learn one or two up to an intermediate level before you can freelance.

Cryptocurrency trading requires patience too and not a get rich quick scheme, but the results show up on time, and you can start with as low as N10, 000 only. You don’t need to get a license from the government before you can start. You don’t need to get a loan. You don’t need to be looking for clients up and down. You already have the tools you need at your disposal. With your mobile phone, anywhere you are in Nigeria, you can be making US Dollars nonstop. Is this not a sure path out of financial poverty?

Three things to have before starting cryptocurrency trading

Knowledge

Cryptocurrency trading requires knowledge before starting it. People make mistakes by jumping into the trade with no knowledge. Anyway, they learn the hard way by losing their hard-earned money.

If you want to start this hustle anywhere in Nigeria and any other part of the world, first learn about it from expert traders before you start trading on your own.

Strategy

After you have built your solid foundation of knowledge in cryptocurrencies trading, the next thing to do is to decide the kind of strategy you want to use to trade. Maybe you want to be a day trader or investor or both. You have to decide which one. It’s very important so that your trading will have direction. You will not be jumping here and there buying all coins.

Patience

Trading cryptocurrencies requires a great amount of patience so that you won’t lose your mind. It’s a volatile market and you may see the value of your coin going down in the morning, in the afternoon it may rise again. If you are not patient. You may be in a hurry to sell your coins, and this may later bring regret and loss to you. Even the greatest of the greatest traders in the market lose money without patience.

Don’t go near cryptos trading if you cannot exercise patience. However, anything can be learned. You can invest time and effort to learn to be patient.

What are cryptocurrencies?

Cryptocurrencies are encrypted, digital currencies which can be used to transfer assets from one person to the other in a decentralized way.

Cryptocurrencies are not regulated by banks or any central authority. The demand and supply control the price of cryptocurrencies in the market.

Every transaction you make using a cryptocurrency is given a unique timestamp that passes through a mathematical function (also called a hash algorithm) to generate a string that is impossible to generate by any other external means.

Two types of cryptocurrencies

  • Bitcoin: Bitcoin is the king of cryptocurrencies and has a market cap of $1.1tr. 1 Bitcoin is currently valued $61, 300. It was created by Satoshi Nakamoto (pseudonym) in 2009.
  • Alt coins: Other coins apart from Bitcoin are called alt coins (alternative coins). There are about over 4000 alt coins in the market as I’m writing this blog post. Examples of alt coins are Ethereum, Litecoin, Riple, Doge coin, Polkadots, Binance Coin, USD Tether, Vechain, etc.

What are the tools you need for cryptocurrency trading in Nigeria?

  • Mobile phone/computer or both.
  • Trading app.
  • Investment app.
  • An active bank account.
  • Internet connection.

The basic jargons cryptocurrency traders use in the market

PUMP: When a coin is on the rise you’ll hear “this coin is pumping  o”

P2P: Peer to peer

C2C: Crypto to Crypto

BUIDL: “Build”

FOMO: Fear of Missing Out

HODL: Hold On for Dear Life (purposeful misspelling of “HOLD”)

BTD or BTFD: Buy The Dip or Buy the F****** Dip

DYOR: Do Your Own Research

FUD: Fear, Uncertainty, Doubt

FUDster: A person who spreads Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt

ELI5: Explain It Like I’m 5

ATH: All Time High

JOMO: Joy of Missing Out

KYC: Know Your Customer

Lambo: Lamborghini (cryptocurrency term for getting rich)

TLT: Think Long Term

OCO: One Cancels the Other

AMA: Ask Me Anything

IMO: In My Opinion

REKT: “Wrecked” (meaning major losses)

TOR: The Onion Router (one who sends anonymous data)

CT: Crypto Twitter

What you need to know if you want to trade cryptocurrency in Nigeria and other parts of the world.

  • Cryptocurrency market is a decentralized one. No central control and no central authority.
  • To make money in crypto trading, you need patience and perseverance. You may wake up in the morning seeing your coin going down losing value, if you are not patient, you’ll sell it off, and in the evening the coin may be PUMPING again. You see that you’ve lost. Patience pays in this game.
  • Cryptocurrency trading is 10% trading, 20% research, 20% signal, and 50% patience.
  • Like normal physical markets that are inefficient, crypto is volatile. Volatility is an advantage for smart traders to make good money. If you know, you know.

Ways people make money trading cryptocurrencies in Nigeria and other parts of the world

Day trading

This method involves conducting multiple trades throughout the day and trying to profit from short-term price movements. Day traders spend a lot of time staring at computer screens, and they usually just close all of their trades by the end of each day.

Scalping

This day-trading strategy is becoming popular lately. Scalping attempts to make substantial profits on small price changes, and it’s often referred to as “picking up pennies in front of a steamroller.”

Scalping focuses on extremely short-term trading, and it’s based on the idea that making small profits repeatedly limits risks and creates advantages for traders. Scalpers can make dozens—or even hundreds—of trades in one day.

Swing trading

This type of trade tries to take advantage of the natural “swing” of the price cycles. Swing traders try to spot the beginning of a specific price movement and enter the trade then. They hold on until the movement dies out, and take the profit. Swing traders try to see the big picture without constantly monitoring their computer screen. For example, swing traders can open a trading position and hold it open for weeks or even months until they reach the desired result.

Investing

Cryptos trading is a good hustle to dive into if you are ready to take the risks involved. You surely need patience and knowledge too to record success. It requires little capital to start and it’s advisable for beginners to start with money they can afford to lose, and as they are seeing the direction their money is heading to, they can add to their capital.

People make money trading cryptos by investing short-term, mid-long-term, and long-term. People who employ this method are patient people and can take more risks than others. They buy cryptos and hold it over a period of time to make a good profit on it. They don’t panic when there is DIP, in fact, this is the time they buy more. We call them  HODLERS

How to Start Selling MTN Data and Making Money in Nigeria

Do you know that you can make extra money every month on your mobile phone with no stress? No doubt, mobile telecommunication is one of the finest human inventions of our time.

Our world is mobile now. Almost everything can be done on a mobile phone. We can transfer money from our bank account to another. We can make orders for products and get them delivered to us. We can check for the traffic status on the road before plying our route. We can sign up for classes to take courses of our choice.

Gone are the days when we used to buy airtime at Cyber Cafe before we could surf the web. The story has changed and the good news is we have more than enough opportunities to explore in the mobile technology world.

Mobile technology makes it easy for people now to make money with their mobile phones. People are running their hustles, attending to their customers using mobile phones.

I know freelance writers who use their mobile phones to deliver writing projects to clients.

Years ago, if you were told that there would be mobile applications development jobs, you would disagree. Now, we have people whose daily job is to develop mobile applications, and they can do this because of mobile telecommunication.

On this blog post, I would like to open your eyes to one of the finest and quiet money-making side hustles you can have in Nigeria. The capital is so small that you can afford to start the business immediately after reading this post.

You don’t need to rent a shop. You don’t need to have an office space. Your smartphone is your office and the tool you need to kickstart the hustle.

Let’s go:

What’s the side hustle idea I’m talking about?

It’s a virtual top-up kind of hustle where you will be selling MTN SME data to people who make orders for it and get paid. Once you have an order, you’ll simply collect the MTN number that your customer wants to buy the data for, then send data to the line.

Your customer can be in Sokoto while you’re in Port Harcourt. Distance means nothing to this business.

MTN SME data has been around for a while and it empowers people to make money full time and on the side.

According to MTN: “MTN SME DataShare is a prepaid service that allows business owners to buy data bundles and share with their staff. This service is specifically designed for growing businesses offering them the ability to centrally manage internet usage per staff across their business.”

This MTN SME Data originally innovated for small business owners has become a product through which many people make a decent income daily in Nigeria.

How do you make money selling this MTN SME Data?

Making money selling MTN SME data in Nigeria is straightforward. You fill your wallet with some amounts of money for data, you make orders on the platform when customers make requests for data, and you send it to them at your own profitable rates. Is this not simple?

What are the things you need to get started?

  • A smartphone: You need to own an Internet enabled phone to start this hustle. And I believe that  if you are reading this post, you already own one of the resources the hustle requires.
  • A bank account and mobile app: As the mobile technology empowers us to transfer money easily on our mobile phone, you need to have a bank account and bank mobile application for payments.
  • Capital: You can start the business with as little as a thousand naira only. You don’t need to take a loan from any entity.

Step by step guide on how to start selling MTN SME data:

Actually, a few years ago, to start this business, you will need to have like N100, 000 because you’ll have to buy the data directly from MTN and no other means.

As time goes on, people are coming up with different innovations to make things become easy for people.

Now, you don’t have to buy directly from the network. All you need to do is register on a reliable website that provides the service, fill your wallet with a minimum of N1, 000, and make orders when your customers want to buy data.

The website you will be using to sell the MTN SME is www.simplevtu.com

Let me walk you through how to get started in these easy to follow steps:

  • Click on the navigation menu.
  • Click on ‘register’ button
  • Provide all the required information
  • After you have registered successfully, check for welcome mail in your spam folder, and mark the mail as non “SPAM”. This will enable you to be receiving notifications directly into your inbox from Simplevtu in the future
  • Login to your account
  • Fund your wallet: There are two methods of funding your wallet. Every registered user of the platform has a valid virtual account number attached to his wallet for easy wallet funding. This account number is dedicated to you. You can save this account number as a beneficiary on your banking apps to make transferring even easier. Remember you can also transfer via your bank’s USSD. You can check your dedicated account number by following these steps. Login to your account. Click on the menu icon.
  • Then
  • Click on bank details:
  • Then transfer money to the displayed sterling account
  • Within minutes, your wallet will be funded.

  • Start making money ?

Additional things you can do on www.simplevtu.com to make money in Nigeria

Apart from selling MTN SME data to people, you can also offer services like cable tv subscriptions ( GOTv, Startimes, DStv), electricity bill payments (Prepaid and postpaid), and airtime.

All these services are at discounted rates. There is a 2% discount on airtime of all networks except MTN which is 1.5%. This is how it works: For instance when you make an order for N100 airtime, you will be charged N98 only from your wallet. If you order for N1000 airtime, you will pay N980 only.

There are discounts on cable tv subscriptions too. The people who offer this service usually add N100 to every subscription package their customers want. Even banks do the same. When their customers make use of their bank mobile app to pay for a cable tv subscription, they get debited for an extra N100 on the subscription.

Can you now see how easy it is to make money with your mobile phone in Nigeria?

How to find customers for your hustle in Nigeria

See, customers are everywhere for you. There are about 99 million Internet users in Nigeria, and over 150 million mobile phone subscribers.

The first category of people buy airtime and Internet data bundles daily, weekly, and monthly. The second category loads airtime only on their phone.

As a hustler, you have to think in numbers. You have to think of how to market your hustle to the number of people within your reach, and the internet is enabling people and businesses to break physical boundaries. Now it means you can reach a wide audience with little resources at your disposal.

Start telling people in your circle of influence about your hustle. Design digital and print stickers for it. Post the stickers at places where people mostly converge.

People visit viewing centres to watch football matches mostly during weekends. It’s a good place for you to post stickers there.

10 Useful Tips on How to Sell to Nigerians and Make Money

4
Photo by Markus Spiske on Unsplash

Everything I ever needed to know about selling is learning how to identify, find and keep customers. — Lillian Vernon

Do you know that you can easily sell your product or service to Nigerians? Believe me. You just need the right tips to follow at the right time.

Selling is a daily activity in the marketplace. Markets exist for the exchange of value and the exchange can never be balanced without selling.

Entrepreneurs like market diversity because it allows new players to come in and capture their own market share. Nigeria’s market is diverse and gives room for participation.

Participating in economic activities in Nigeria requires good knowledge of the market and customers.

If you want to sell anything to Nigerians, there are certain things to know and skills to hone. Selling to Nigerians becomes easy when you know how.

Business is selling and selling is business. You can’t stay in business without selling. Selling brings in revenue for the business. Selling is the main source of resources that power the machinery of everyday business activities. If the business is an agent of change in society, selling is the fuel that powers it.

In this blog post, I will be writing tips on how to sell to Nigerians without losing your soul. As a seller in Nigeria, I gather these tips from my personal experiences and that of other business people, and they are quite helpful and practical for everyone.

Let go in:

1 ) Sell What They Want

This is the most important tip on this list. One of the mistakes many sellers make in Nigeria is selling what they think people need not what they really want. And if Nigerians don’t want something badly, they will not exchange their money for it no matter how good the product or service may appear to be.

You have to sell what they want, or else you will patronize yourself. And a business whose only customer is its owner isn’t a business.

2 ) Sell the product or service when they want it badly

This is another important tip on how to sell to Nigerians. You have to sell your product or service at the time Nigerians want it badly.

Nigerians are impatient when they want to have something. They can go the extra mile to get what they want because they want it badly.

When they want to buy a product or service, they will come to knock on your door no matter how far you’re from them. This is the best time to sell a product or service to Nigerians and make a good profit.

Price cannot deter Nigerians from getting what they want except if they don’t have the money.

Having and selling a product or service when Nigerians want it badly will bring in revenue for your business and you will always smile to the bank.

3 ) Make it easy for them to buy from you

Nigerians face problems daily. In cities, they face traffic jams when commuting to work and coming back home every day. This makes most people living in the cities easily offended, provoked, and pissed off.

I remember a customer once opened up to me that one of the reasons he patronizes my business is because he finds it easy to buy from me, unlike others. Deep down in my heart, I know that he is saying the truth.

There are many things you can do to make it easy for people to buy from you. You can employ a few of them that suits your kind of business.

Take for instance: If you have a customer that regularly buys a product on a particular day of the week, write down the name of the customer, what he buys, the day he buys it, the quantity he always goes for, and his phone number. When next he comes, you can simply confirm from him if he needs the same quantity he normally purchased. He would be happy to know that you take a step further to know about him and his needs.

You can also step your game up a little bit. There is no need for customers, most especially the ones you have their records to be coming to your business place physically if the situation doesn’t warrant it. You can be delivering orders to their doorsteps.

If you want to sell to Nigerians and make a good profit, make it easy for them to buy from you.

4 ) Place a reasonable price on your product/service

What attracts the majority of Nigerians to your product /service is price and the same thing also chases them away.

Nigerians don’t like to be cheated, scammed—as they popularly say it. They watch carefully before putting their money on your product/service. If they sense that you overprice your product/service, they will not only ignore your business but also tell people not to buy from you.

Place a reasonable price on your product and make it affordable, you won’t stop seeing Nigerians demanding for what you are offering in the marketplace.

5 ) Have money recovery intelligence

You can’t sell to Nigerians without selling on credit. And you can’t stay in business for long without knowing how to recover your money from peoples’ hands.

Having money recovery intelligence is required in selling to Nigerians, and lacking this may throw you out of business quickly except if you don’t sell on credit, but with my experience, it’s almost impossible in Nigeria not to sell on credit.

6 ) Don’t appear desperate when selling

No doubt, every tip on this list is useful but some are more important than others and one of them is this: Nigerians are adept at sensing desperation at a distance. If you want to sell a product or service to Nigerians, you must not appear to be desperate. Not that you’re not eager to make money, but don’t let it be clearly written on your face, or else they will run away from you or misprice your product.

In addition, Nigerians don’t like to be forced to buy anything if they don’t want to. Forcing them to buy will make you appear desperate to them. Don’t do it. It’s bad for selling and what’s bad for selling is bad for business because business is selling.

7 ) Be available when they need you

Generally speaking, a small business person is supposed to be available to serve customers/clients when the need arises. Customers love to buy from businesses that value their time and are available to meet their needs.

As mentioned earlier, Nigerians are impatient when they want something badly and they will buy from available businesses in the marketplace. They move to any available business to meet their needs for them quickly when you are unreachable.

Being reachable through various channels takes you a bit ahead of the competition and it will bring more sales to you.

8 ) Reward your loyal customers

It’s hard to win Nigerians’ loyalty and also hard to maintain it. If you have been in the business for long, you will definitely win some hearts.

Your relationship with them won’t only be about business but like that of friends and family. Some will even tell you that they cannot buy elsewhere if you are not available—that they will rather wait or postpone the purchase. They will bring friends and family members to patronize your business.

These kinds of customers must be rewarded at least once a year. Gifts can be given to them at the end of the year. Special discounts on products they buy are not bad. The reward should be something they appreciate.

Rewarding your loyal customers will help to grow your business and you will be able to sell to more Nigerians.

9 ) Sell something(s) that solves the painful problem(s) for them

Nigeria’s economic realities bite hard for the majority of the people. Many Nigerians leave below the survival line. They spend 70% of their income—if not more—on daily needs and basic necessities.

Hunger is a painful problem. Sickness is a painful problem. Lack of good shelter is a painful problem. And there are so many painful problems to solve for Nigerians and make money through it. To sell to most Nigerians, your business/product/service must address any of their painful issues.

A hungry man will care more about filling his stomach than going on a vacation. A man struggling to get to work will care more about commuting easily than watching the latest movie at the cinema. A sick person will want to regain his/her health back then watching the premier league.

If your business plays in the arena of meeting the basic needs and necessities of the majority of Nigeria, you will make more money than you expect.

10 ) Have stretchable patience

Selling itself is a business activity that requires patience not to talk of selling to Nigerians who are impatient most of the time when they want to buy what they desire. You will definitely need to have the patience to deal with them and remember that you are in business because of providing them with what they need.

More so, doing business in Nigeria needs patience. You need the patience to turn your idea into a profitable business. You need to have the patience to make good sales and profit which may not happen quickly as projected.

In conclusion

Now that you have useful tips on how to sell to Nigerians, what is delaying you from acting with it? Act now and act fast. There is money on the table waiting for you.

How to Start Honey Business and Make Money in Nigeria

10
Photo by Benyamin Bohlouli on Unsplash

Have you ever thought about an easy business to start with little capital? Honey business is one of those businesses that don’t require you to take a loan from a commercial bank or look for investors before you can start.

Selling honey in Nigeria is quite lucrative because there is always demand for a pure one for its benefits. Nothing brings joy to the heart of a businessman like seeing people wanting and buying what he brings to the marketplace–this is often the case when you are selling what people want, not what you think they want.

There is no human being on this planet who will know the benefits of honey and still not want to buy it. Imagine how much you will make if you are able to sell honey to 10% of honey buyers in Nigeria.

Another good thing about selling honey in Nigeria is you are not geographically limited to selling to people in your location alone. As buyers are everywhere, you can ship your product down to them.

Without taking much of your time, as the headline reads, I will be revealing how anyone can start selling pure honey and make money in Nigeria.

Lets go.

What is Honey?

Honey is a thick liquid that is brownish-yellow or gold in colour. It is produced by bees and is created from nectar extracted from flowering plants. This nectar is generally taken when bees are pollinating flowers and other plants.

Furthermore, bees are the biggest pollinators on earth. 80% of our cultivated crops are pollinated by honeybees. Without bees on earth, there will be famine which will eventually lead to the death of people. Human beings cannot survive up to a year if bees disappeared from the planet.

What are the Benefits of Using Honey and Why Do People Buy it?

  • Honey has about 67% glucose and fructose–this makes it to be used as a better alternative sweetener to white sugar for overall health benefits.
  • People apply honey on their face as facemask to clear up the skin.
  • Honey contains polyphenols which contribute greatly to the improvement of memory-related functions of the brain.
  • Honey has antiseptic properties and people use it in traditional medicine to treat antibiotic resistance bacteria infections.
  • People buy honey to treat cough and upper respiratory tract infections.
  • Honey is used to boost the immune system.
  • Honey speeds up wound healing.
  • People use honey with garlic to regulate their blood pressure.
  • Honey can also be used to treat dandruff and prevent hair loss.

How Profitable is Honey Business in Nigeria?

Selling pure honey in Nigeria is worthwhile and lucrative. There is always a demand for pure honey because people use it every day for its benefit.

Let’s do some calculations: If you get 25 litres of honey for N30, 000, you use a 75cl container to sell it to your customers at the rate of N1, 700, you will get about 30 bottles of 75cl in it ( N1, 700 X 30 = N51, 000 ) By the time you subtract your expenses from the revenue, you will be left with a decent profit. Can you see that the business is worth it?

How to Detect If Honey is Pure or Adulterated

Your pillar of success in this business is rested on mastering the skill to differentiate between pure honey and adulterated one. There are several means to do this and I will be writing some on this post.

  • Pure honey has no foam.
  • Pure honey is quite thick.
  • It has a nice smell.
  • If pure honey is dropped into a glass cup of water, it will go straight down to the bottom, won’t dissolve.
  • Get a piece of cloth, rub a small amount of honey on it, light your match stick and fire the cloth. If the honey is pure, it should catch fire.
  • Put tiny honey on your match stick, then light it on your match box. If the honey is pure, it will light.

How to Source for Pure Honey in Nigeria

Pure honey can be sourced directly from the farm, but the farm has to be one with a good reputation for selling pure honey. It’s common practice among bee farmers to mix things up with their honey so that they can make more money from sales.

It can also be sourced from reliable sellers in the market where it is sold. Proper care has to be taken so that you won’t exchange your hard earned money for the product you may not be able to sell to your customers.

How to Market Your Honey Business

Tell everyone that you know about it. Leverage the power of the Internet to promote it on your social media profiles too.

Business is customer and no business survives without paying ones, so employ different marketing strategies to bring people to your door for business. You won’t toil that much to get customers because people really need pure honey, and it’s hard to find an unadulterated ones in the market.

Disruptive Marketing Strategies for Honey Business

Every business is capable of turning you into a millionaire—no matter how small the profit margin is— and if you are ready to give what it takes, you can make a whole lot of money. For instance, soft drinks dealers don’t make much profit per pack but their ability to sell packs in high volume makes the business lucrative.

I do tell people not to be deterred by the number of competitors in the marketplace, because I believe that with good marketing innovation, you can beat anyone.

Selling pure honey in Nigeria is worth living on as a business if you can be deploying marketing strategies constantly in the market.

There are the strategies you can employ if you want to make serious money selling pure honey in Nigeria:

Start a blog.

Innovation brings in more customers for your business. Starting a blog about the benefits of honey or natural health products and tips is one of the strategies you can deploy to gain a large number of customers in the marketplace.

If you are a skilled user of words that can churn out good content, and you can research widely on the Internet within a short period of time, you are a good candidate for this strategy. However, you can hire a freelance writer to do the writing task for you if you don’t have the time or you are not that good with words.

The question is how do you go about this? Create and design a self-hosted blog, (if you don’t have the technical know-how, you can hire me to do it for you), write articles about the benefits of pure honey, place your honey business ad banner on your blog, create social media pages for your blog, promote it well and see customers trooping in.

Setup and design a website for the business.

Every business needs a website and yours is not left out. If you are ready to handle this business as a serious one take advantage of the available opportunities in the digital space, get a user-friendly website designed for your business.

Owning a website grows your brand as well as gives you credibility locally and internationally. You have to keep up with the trend and maximize your profits.

You can have a simple e-commerce site that people can shop on for honey and get it delivered to their address with no hassle. I won’t lie to you, this strategy requires good management and seriousness, but everything can be learned and done if you are determined.

Not only that you will stand out among other honey sellers, customers will also take you seriously. And as your business is booming, you can be adding other natural health products to what you sell on the website.

Brand and package your product well.

Marketing is about perception. The way people perceive your product determines how they value its worths.

Good branding and packaging will also help you to stand out from the crowd, and be recognized. You will create a positive lasting impression in people’s hearts.

Design a good brand identity(logo) for your product, fine label, get a fine container that is different from what people use to package and sell it.

As people are seeing your product and get familiar with the brand, you will build trust in their hearts and they will bring customers to your doorstep.

(Note: You can hire me to design logo and eye-catching labels for your brand to promote your business)

Employ “sachetization” strategy

Let me explain what I mean by sachetization. Sachetization is a business strategy that ensures that products are affordable to consumers. It means selling products to consumers at a certain quantity they can afford.

Sachetization strategy is common in FMCG business. Fast-moving consumer goods are packaged in sachet in various sizes for consumers to buy.

Many years ago, Promasidor the company producing Cowbell milk discovered that majority of Nigerians couldn’t afford to buy tin milk. They started producing milk in sachet and their main competitor was surprised to see the size of the market being captured by Cowbell. That’s how the milk market-leading company started selling her product in sachets too.

Not that you will be selling your honey in all sizes of sachet like FMCG, but you can package yours in a pouch as shown in the picture below.

The main reason for using a sachetization strategy is to ensure that a large number of people can afford your product. Selling in a small plastic container won’t be a bad idea as well.

Wrapping it up

The honey business will remain a lucrative one to venture into because of its benefits and market demand. Business ideas only cannot make anyone rich in Nigeria and other parts of the world without taking action. You have to be prepared and give all that it takes.

Honey business can be a full-time business as well as a side hustle for anyone.

The market demand for honey and honey products are unmet in Nigeria due to some reasons. For entrepreneurs, there is money to be made in this pursuit.

4 Necessary Steps to Become an Entrepreneur

Do you think becoming an entrepreneur is a herculean task? You may be right and at the same time, you may be wrong. If you have been looking for ways to become an entrepreneur, look nowhere else because, in this blog post, I will present to you the necessary steps to take to become not only an entrepreneur but a successful one.

Becoming an entrepreneur is not that difficult if one follows the right path. And treading the right path alone doesn’t guarantee success if proper steps are not taken.

Entrepreneurship, like art, cannot be understood without practice. In practice, mistakes will be made and lessons will be learnt and they are worth it— even while taking the right steps.

People make excuses and find reasons for not following a path to become an entrepreneur. I did a post about it sometimes ago. Truly, entrepreneurship is not for everybody but no one is born as one.

Before we dive in, let’s define entrepreneur and entrepreneurship.

Who is an ‘Entrepreneur’?

An entrepreneur is someone who takes an idea, product or service and does whatever is necessary to bring it to the marketplace for people to exchange value for and generate revenue.

Entrepreneurs can simply be called business owners who have systems in place and don’t exchange time for money.

Entrepreneurs work hard to build something of lasting value.

Entrepreneurs solve our everyday problems by proffering solutions to the people who want them and are ready to exchange their money for them.

With passion, hard work, a great idea, willingness to learn, anyone can build a business and turn it into a money-spinning machine.

Entrepreneurs create new markets with their products and services that are not in existence to bring about change in society. In fact, they are often tagged as makers and changers of society. Entrepreneurs like Steve Jobs changed the way we communicate with mobile phones. Elon Musk is changing how we move from one place to the other. Mark Zuckerberg is changing how we socialize with social network apps.

What is ‘Entrepreneurship’?

Entrepreneurship is the act of starting and running your own business in order to achieve goals and financial gains. Entrepreneurship isn’t easy, but it can offer many rewards to ambitious risk-takers.

Entrepreneurship can also be likened to a path full of mental-taxing activities and time-consuming challenges. The world of entrepreneurship is unpredictable and exciting.

Seeing people patronizing and loving your products or services is one of the most enjoyable things on the path to entrepreneurship, most especially if it happens earlier than projected.

As we are familiar with the words — entrepreneur and entrepreneurship — we can move forward to discuss the right steps to take to become an entrepreneur.

So, the question now is what are the necessary steps to take to become an entrepreneur? Don’t let me waste your valuable resource–time. Let me deliver my promise as the headline reads.

Let’s go in straight!

Step 1:  Find Your Industry or Niche

This step is the most important step to take if you want to become an entrepreneur. It comes first and must never be shortchanged.

You must find a specific niche or industry you want to operate in. People wish to become entrepreneurs but they don’t define what industry to get involved with.

Most times, your niche is usually carved out of your experience. If you have been an accountant for an IT company for years, you will understand how IT products and firms generate revenue and you can be thinking of how to carve a niche around that.

If you have worked at a cosmetics company for many years, you probably have a good understanding of how to run a cosmetics production business and you can be thinking of how to provide consultancy services to cosmetics organizations. Your current experience is a great place to start looking for your niche.

Building a business in an industry that you are familiar with will make you love every bit of the entrepreneurship journey. To stay relevant in an industry for years, you must be passionate and purposeful about what you do . Working for hours will feel like play and game to you and results alone will not be your motivator.

Step 2: Research Your Market

After deciding the industry you want to do business in, the next step to take is conducting your market research effectively. This is a crucial step that must not be neglected.

Market research will enable you to know if there is a market for your product or service, have an idea of the size of your demographics, and it will also prevent you from wasting your scarce resources. Taking this second step will move you closer to your destination of becoming an entrepreneur.

Step 3: Educate Yourself

After conducting market research, the next step to take on the journey of becoming an entrepreneur is gaining the necessary knowledge about what you want to do.

You can pick up books, sign up for classes, listen to lectures on what is related to the niche you are working on. Also, you need to be knowledgeable about building a profitable business and its entails.  You can invest your time to read about marketing, communication, business analytics, accounting, advertising, business management, etc.

To stay a successful entrepreneur in the market, you must constantly be educating yourself.

Step 4: Build Your Business

All the aforementioned steps are leading you to this final one. You cannot be an entrepreneur if you fail to build one. Every action you take daily must contribute to building your business.

Business building starts from day one you think about your business idea, however, the step here is about taking necessary actions that will contribute positively to growing the business.

As an entrepreneur, to build your business, you must work on your business, not in it. Entrepreneurs do strategic work and delegate tasks to others efficiently.

In conclusion

All the mentioned steps in this post are vital to take as arranged to prevent business failure. Like a staircase, a step to be taken at a time to avoid stories that touch. And I believe the journey will not be that rough with these steps.

Now to you

Do you know any other step that can be taken that is not listed here to become an entrepreneur? Or do you think there are errors in the arrangement of the steps? Please, leave comments below. I can’t wait to read your words.

10 Profitable Side Hustle Ideas for HouseWives in Nigeria

Being a housewife doesn’t limit you to not having a side hustle. Truly, taking care of the house and putting things in order for the family is a strenuous exercise already not to talk of adding extra other things to it. But since side hustle is neither another job nor a part-time job, it will not be difficult to start and grow.

Side hustle makes it easy for people to earn extra income with no stress.

It’s good to build a side hustle around one’s passion, since it’s something you love to do, you will never feel burnt out. It can even be something you escape to —to refresh.

As a housewife, you have some hustling advantages over others because to some extent you are in control of your time, and you can plan your day in such a way that it will give you time for your side hustle.

Though, if you want to look at the other side, as they say, it depends on what you choose to see. If you think you are disadvantaged at starting a hustle, yes, you are. But if you think otherwise, yes, you are right. As a saying goes: As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he. If you already have it in mind that being a housewife prevents you from having your own hustle, you may need to change your perception now before it’s too late and open your eyes to the hustle opportunities under your nose.

There are fine hustles that you can have as a housewife without compromising your attention for your kids and husband. In this blog post, I will be revealing some time-proven hustle ideas for housewives. So, let’s dive in straight.

Idea1#: Niche blogging

Niche blogging is a kind of blogging where you will be writing content on a single topic—exclusively and extensively.

You will be creating good content on a particular topic for people to read on your blog consistently.

You can write about anything that you are passionate about. It can be on cooking, child-care, relationship, natural health remedy, pregnancy, baby care, fashion, handicraft, etc.

If you pick a niche that you are passionate about, you will never get tired of creating content for it.

You can earn a decent active and passive income from your self-hosted niche blog. It all depends on the monetization methods you employ.

Once you have made up your mind on the kind of topic you want to be publishing content about, the next step is blog setup and design. If you are not a technical person, you can hire a professional to do this for you at an affordable rate. Do not hesitate to reach out to me if you need this service.

Idea#2: Video Blogging

Video blogging is a kind of blogging where you will be creating video content around a specific topic to reach your targeted audience.

You can self-host your video content or publish them on YouTube. Both options have their advantages and disadvantages.

To make money from this hustle, you must be ready to create video content back to back.

If you are a shy type that likes to stay behind the camera, you can pick a niche that won’t require your face to be seen by your viewer.

As your YouTube page is growing and you have a sizable number of viewers, Google will be paying you consistently. Some YouTube stars make as much as $1000+ a day on YouTube—passively.

As a housewife, in the corner of your room, you can be making cool money if you are ready to put in the work and sweat.

Idea#3: Freelancing

Freelancing is an act of selling service independently to a buyer and getting paid. You are not tied to a client. You can work for anyone you wish based on agreement.

To be a freelancer that earns income, you must have a skill that you are good at. It can be writing, graphic design, web design, digital marketing, video editor, etc.

Consider learning a tradable digital skill at least if you don’t have one.

Idea#4: Cake & Snacks Making

If you know how to make yummy cakes and sweet snacks, this can be a good source of income for you as a housewife.

Cake and snacks need no introduction in Nigerian market because almost everybody buys it every day, most especially in cities where people get stuck in traffic for hours, and they eat snacks to hold their bellies before they get home.

Good packaging of your snacks and word-of-mouth marketing will bring in customers for your hustle. Don’t dull yourself. Start the hustle now in your kitchen and make good money.

Idea#5: Digital Marketing

Digital marketing is like other types of marketing but the difference is you connect with and influence customers on the Internet. In this Information Age, digital marketing can be used to target anyone anywhere.

Having good knowledge of digital marketing is a must. If you don’t have the knowledge, do not be deterred. Take free digital marketing skills training powered by Google or learn it on YouTube.

Digital marketing professionals are high in demand today. You can work with/for any company, individual without leaving your home and making money.

Ideas#6:  Fashion Design:

Offering fashion design services is another profitable hustle idea for housewives in Nigeria. The fashion industry is big in Nigeria and still growing non-stop. You can make cool money with this hustle.

You need to have fashion design skills to start with. If you are a good learner, you can learn everything on YouTube and practice–simultaneously. Better still, you can enrol for a fashion design training program in a fashion school/centre. Before you know it, you have become a designer within months.

Idea#7: Liquid Soap Production

Liquid soap production is a good side hustle for housewives in Nigeria. Soap is one of the daily consumables in every household in this country. I haven’t come across or heard of someone who doesn’t use soap.

People use liquid soap mostly in their kitchen to wash plates, cooking pots and kitchen utensils. In fact, some individuals use it to wash their dresses.

You can make money in Nigeria as a housewife by producing and selling this highly sought after product. It does not take much time to learn how to produce liquid soap at all and the chemical ingredients can be easily found in all chemical markets.

Idea#8: Virtual Assistance

Virtual assistance is a kind of hustle where you provide support services to individuals and companies remotely and get paid based on agreement. You work as an independent contractor.

You can offer as many services as possible if you can deliver on time. You may choose to charge by the hour, or you can sell service packages to people. For instance: If you know how to manage social media pages effectively, you can help individuals and businesses to create content for their pages, engage with their audience, and update pages consistently. You can get paid per task or per package or per hour.

Virtual assistance service is one of the easiest and coolest hustle to start and make money on the side or full time.

Idea#9: Egg Business

Egg business is another cool hustle to have as a housewife in Nigeria. It isn’t capital intensive and you can make money easily with it by informing people within your circle of influence. You can start with as little as 10 crates and reinvest the profit back into your capital to grow the hustle.

You will be surprised if you know how many crates of egg people consume daily in Nigeria. Another cool thing about this business is that the customers are everywhere.

Idea#10: Baby Sitting Service

If you have a vacant room in your apartment, and you love to care for babies, this hustle is for you. Babysitting service needs no definition. It is a common service in urban areas, and busy parents are the ones who most need the service. They hardly have time for themselves and their family.

Your Turn

I’m confident you can use at least one of these side hustle ideas to earn extra money in Nigeria as a housewife.

Or do you know other profitable side hustle ideas for housewives in Nigeria that are not covered in this post? Please, leave comments in the tab below. I can’t wait to hear from you.

100 Profitable Side Hustle Ideas for Students in Nigeria

It’s hard to come up with a single definition of side hustle. For now, the best way I can put it is: any productive activity you engage in— on your own term either passively or actively— in order to earn extra income without stopping your main hustle or activity.

Having a side hustle is cool. A side hustle is not another job that will drain your energy. It is a great way to build an extra income stream, and help you to acquire new skills.

As a student in Nigeria, you are hustling—passively and actively. You may not know that. Most of the things you get don’t come by easily or as you thought. You hustle for a seat in the lecture class. You hustle to get water to have your bath. You hustle to board a bus. You hustle hard to pass your exams. Practically, your life as a student in Nigeria is filled with hustles, in fact, terrible, unpaid, and avoidable hustles. As you know now that you are a hustler, why can’t you consider having an income-earning hustle on the side without interfering with your studies?

There are many good side hustle ideas you can execute as a student in Nigeria. Most of them need no resources at all because you already possess all the basic ones you need to start up your idea. Imagine waking up in the morning and discovering that some of your customers have purchased and paid for your product overnight without interacting with you at all. Imagine leaving class in the hot afternoon and seeing a credit alert for one of the services you just offered. Imagine being able to raise money on the side to finance your developmental innovation after graduation.

The most important thing is passion. Your side hustle must be a thing you really enjoy doing, else you will see it as an extra job—which is not.

For some creative side hustles, money is not the primary motivation. It is usually born out of the willingness to express one’s unique abilities. It’s like putting your picture out for the world to see. It’s doing what you love and getting paid for it.

It’s easy to come with side hustle ideas in Nigeria as a student. You are already offering some certain services to your fellow students for free—which some people can pay for willingly. I have read stories of good copywriters who discovered they have paying writing skills by helping their friends to write great copies to their girl friends on their birthday.

Finding ethical means of earning income on the side is worthwhile and almost effortless. In this blog post, I would be sharing with you workable side hustle ideas. In fact, some of them can be turned to full-time hustle in no time.
