HOW TO START INSECTICIDE PRODUCTION BUSINESS IN NIGERIA

Insecticide sells like crazy in Nigeria and Africa because people need to get rid of perceived harmful insects in their homes and surroundings. 

According to UNICEF: “Malaria causes more than three hundred million acute illnesses and kills at least one million people every year. Ninety percent of deaths due to malaria occur in Africa, south of the Sahara, and most deaths occur in children under the age of five.”

Malaria kills people everyday in Nigeria. Mosquito is the carrier of the plasmodium parasite that causes malaria illness. Malaria is spread when an infected Anopheles mosquito bites a person. Anopheles is the type of mosquito that can spread this life-threatening illness. It becomes infected by biting an infected person and drawing blood that contains the plasmodium parasite.

They say: prevention is better than cure. Getting rid of mosquitoes is the number one reason most people fumigate their homes and surroundings with insecticide. A single Anopheles mosquito is capable of infecting more than 100 people before its lifecycle ends. In order to not give way to this, people go to any length to destroy mosquito inhumane activities. 

There are other creepy crawlies that cause damage in homes: cockroaches, flies, termites, spiders, bed bugs, ants, bees, etc. They all destroy things and their activities are quite embarrassing. Insecticides are used to terminate their lifecycle. 

Insecticide production business is lucrative. You can start it without taking a loan from the bank. The market is booming and entering it to take your own share is as simple as ABC. 

Look at the big and known brands in the market to see how much they sell their products. Look at the way new products surface in the marketplace. Just imagine why they are coming up with new products everyday. If the demand is not there, no one will waste his/her time, energy, and money to produce a product that no one is ready to exchange his/her money for. 

Let’s go into how to start the production of insecticide.

WHAT ARE THE EQUIPMENTS THAT  YOU WILL NEED FOR THE PRODUCTION?

• Big bowl.
• Stirring stick.
• Facial mask.
• Nylon/Rubber hand gloves.

WHAT ARE THE CHEMICAL INGREDIENTS NEEDED FOR THE PRODUCTION OF INSECTICIDE?

• Sniper. ( 100 ml size)
• Industrial Camphor. ( 2kg )
• Formalin. (1/14)
• Mulvap. (100 ml)
• IPA. ( 50 cl)
• Kerosene. (5 litres)
• Color. (As you want. You must have already dissolve the color in water separately before application.)
• Perfume. ( As you want)

WHAT ARE THE PRODUCTION PROCESSES?

1. Pour your 5 litres of kerosene into a big bowl. 
2. Pour all the 2kg industrial camphor into the kerosene and leave it for like 40 minutes to let dissolve properly.
3. Pour the Mulvap 100 ml size into it carefully. 
4. Pour all the IPA.
5. Pour your desired perfume.
6. Pour the color solution into it.
7. Use the stick to stir everything together.
8. Leave it for some minutes.
9. Package it into containers of your choice.
10. Brand it and start selling.

HOW WILL YOU FIND CUSTOMERS FOR TOUR PRODUCTS? 

Advertise, advertise, advertise. Market, market, market. Introduce your people to the people in your locality. Give it free to friends, co-tenants, coworkers, and family members who you know will need the product or usually complain about damages the insects in his/her house has caused. 

I have a friend who hates cockroaches with passion. This friend of mine can smell cockroaches miles away. Look for customers like him. They are everywhere to find and if they discover that your product works as they desire, they will always buy and recommend your product to customers.

Package your product well. Don’t let it look like something that wasn’t properly made. Design label sticker for it. Make use of uncommon plastic containers to package them well. If you can afford to print a nylon sticker, print it.
